Back in your life/My Tiger My Timing

I'm a music tart. As soon as something fresh or new comes along and flutters it's eyelashes and flashes some lyrical thigh I'll move on from whatever I've been listening to faster than you can say...cosmic disco. After a hefty hiatus I'm giving Superheroes a Sid James stylee pat on the bum and a new start. I'm broadening the Superheroes mantra/manifesto. The blogosphere (can we ban that word?) is rife with bland remixes that might aswell be just putting a donk on it. So what better re-introduction to Superheroes than to post a remix. I got this from one of my favourite blogs kicking about, and friend of Superheroes Check The Availability . It's an excellent bit of spacey electro with a catchier than thou vocal loop. And it's out on 7" now from their myspace.

Hi! Atus

My laptop has gone bluerghghghghghgh and I am going abroad for the summer so I'm putting the blog on the backburner until September. So my billion strong readership will have to get their electronic weblog kicks elsewhere. Check out the many other brilliant blogs that are on my blogroll and have a good summer!

Stone

Being born in 1988 I often have little or no knowledge of the dance songs I love. I've searched the murky plains of google for information about this song and the people that made it and come up with nothing. Even lastfm failed to throw me a bone, hence the artist image on that website being a bunch of scraggy looking Finnish hair metallers. But if these scraggy looking Finnish hair metallers really did make this terrific discofunk classic. Then bloody well done boys! I am a bit dubious though.

Sally Shapiro, Cut Copy, Holy Ghost

Sally Shapiro has readied up the second round of Disco Romance remixes. To release one top notch remix album might be considered lucky, to release two is a credit to the brilliance of the set text and imagination of the interpretations. Italo-Disco auteur Alexander Robotnick reworking of 'Anorak Christmas' is ridiculously good.

My favourite of the recent Hearts On Fire remixstravaganza (that word *almost* worked) is by DFA wunderkids Holy Ghost. Everything these boys have touched so far has been solid gold and this is no exception, just marvellous.

Latimore & Angela Bofill

Apologies for the tardiness of this post, life and work (and Scrabulous admittedly) have got in the way of my blogging duties, but I'll try and get back into the swing of things from now on. Scouts honour and all that.

'Let Me Go' was sampled for Jay-Z's track 'A Million And One Questions' fact fans. And it's a belter. A passionate vocal pleading with an anonymous female to stop him from doing something he might regret. Or maybe just a simple 'goodbye to a lover' song. Either way it's a killer.

'Baby, I Need Your Love' by Angela Bofill is a teriffic slab of loungey balladering from the R'N'B journeywoman. Not much more to add than that really. An enjoyable song coming straight from the middle of the road.
